European Projects

KPA has successfully managed and contributed to projects funded under several European Framework Programs.

A list of these projects follows with links to relevant web sites.

  • The Israeli Software Process Improvement Node was established at KPA to support Software Process Improvement Experiments (PIE) under ESPRIT, in the context of FP4. This knowledge center specializes in Software Quality, Software Process Improvements, CMMI assesments, Software Metrics and Testing Methodologies. Link to Israel ESPINODE

  • KPA developed, in the context of the ELEKTRA FP4 project named, a Knowledge Management Methodology (EKD= Enterprise Knowledge Development), to support structural changes in the European Electricity Supply Industry. Link to ELEKTRA

  • KPA was a partner in TITOSIM - an FP5 Growth project with participation of Israel Aircraft Industries, SNECMA, and the FIAT Development Center - that applied advanced statistical methodologies for reducing time to market on simulation platforms. Link to TITOSIM

  • KPA was responsible for statistical analysis and development of statistical tools in the PRONACOM project - an FP5 Growth project focused on the development of Nano-technology applications.

  • KPA was a member of Pro-ENBIS - A Thematic Network funded under FP5 in order to enhance the applications of Business and Industrial Statistics. Pro-ENBIS was followed by ENBIS which has now over 3000 members and is sustainable through independent funding. Professor Kenett was the President of ENBIS in 2005-2006. Link to ENBIS

  • KPA developed under BEST, an FP5 IST project coordinated by the university of Cranfield in the UK, a methodology for BEtter System enTerprise implementation. The methodology is focused on improving the implementation of ERP, CRM and PDM systems. Link to BEST

  • KPA was a partner in an FP6 project called MUSING (MUlti-industry, Semantic-based next generation business INtelliGence). MUSING aimed at developing a new generation of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and modules based on semantic-based knowledge and content systems. MUSING integrates Semantic Web and Human Language Technologies and combines declarative rule-based methods and statistical approaches for enhancing the technological foundations of knowledge acquisition and reasoning in BI applications.KPA was the leader of the Operational Risk Management vertical stream with particular reference to operational risks faced by IT-intensive organisations.Link to MUSING. • KPA is leading the risk analytics in the FP7 RISCOSS project. The RISCOSS project offers novel risk identification, management and mitigation tools and methods for community-based and industry-supported OSS development, composition and life cycle management to individually, collectively and/or collaboratively manage OSS adoption risks. Using advanced software engineering techniques, RISCOSS will deliver a risk-aware technical decision-making management platform integrated in a business-oriented decision-making framework, which together support placing technical OSS adoption decisions into organizational, business strategy as well as the broader OSS community context
